Changed consumer behaviour on the agenda during Fashion Talks
Press release 26/01/2012Our way of consuming is changing. During the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, the Association of Swedish Fashion Brands and Antonia Ax:son Johnson Foundation for the Environment Sweden invite to a discussion on changing consumer behaviour in the fashion industry.
On 1st February, ASFB along with Antonia Ax:son Johnson Foundation for the Environment are offering a seminar to discuss new consumption behaviours. The role of the consumer is changing, as a result of new technology and contemporary lifestyle trends in equal measure.Technology gives rise to new behaviour and new behaviour gives rise to new business models in an ever accelerating flow, to which companies must adapt to.This and more will be up for discussion at this year's Fashion Talks.
“This is the fourth time we are organising Fashion Talks.This year's topic feels exciting and relevant, as it shines a light on consumer behaviour among consumers who are becoming ever more demanding and informed.It also points to new possibilities and challenges for the industry”, says Carolina Sachs, secretary-general at Antonia Ax:son Johnson Foundation for the Environment and Gunilla Grubb, project manager at ASFB.
The following speakers will participate in the seminar:Sofia Ulver-Sneistrup (Ph.D. consumer trends, Lund University), CallePeyron (author of the book SUPERBRANDS and founder of LOHAS), Sofia Hedström (journalist and fashion editor, SvD), Hans Andersson (business development in commerce, IBM), BurakCakmak (advisor in sustainability), Elin Larsson (Corporate ResponsibilityManager,Filippa K), Andrew and IaianFoxall (Foxall studio), MickeSchiller (chairman, Acne), Pär Lager (entrepreneur and strategic advisor).
The seminar is moderated by Marcus Bergman, who has an extensive academic background from Chalmers University of Technology and Borås School of Textiles. He is also active in the family business The Ecocotton Co. in Sweden, Bergman/Rivera in Peru, which is the leading producer of organic cotton in Latin America.
The seminar will be held in the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Pavilion in Stockholm between 8:30am and 10:30am.
